The Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP) is the voluntary, enrollee-pay-all dental and vision insurance program available to federal employees and annuitants, certain retired uniformed service members, and active duty family members. FEDVIP is sponsored by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and offers eligible participants a choice between 12 dental and 5 vision carriers.

Retiring service members are considered newly eligible for the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP). In general, retired uniformed service members, their families, and survivors are eligible for FEDVIP dental coverage and, if enrolled in a TRICARE health plan, FEDVIP vision coverage.
